Art Historian | Glen R. Brown

Glen R. Brown is an Associate Professor of Art History at Kansas State University. He is the author of eleven exhibition catalogs, including Intimate Immensity: Recent Works by Patti Warashina, and over 100 articles and reviews for Ceramics: Art and Perception; Ceramics Monthly; American Ceramics; Clay Times; Ceramica; The NCECA Journal; American Craft; Ornament; Metalsmith; Fiberarts; New Art Examiner; Art Papers; Art and Academe; Asian Art News; Sculpture; and World Sculpture News. He is currently curating the exhibition Clay Body Rhetoric: Ceramic Figures of Speech (spring 2002, the Marianna Kistler Beach Museum of Art, Kansas State University).

Books | Forrest Snyder

I've been making books since grad school. The pages are individual sheets of clay. If you have ever made philo dough then you have some idea of what I do. There are approximately 30 sheets to the inch. Some of the books contain my own writings, but often I've edited the poetry or prose of others. The firing adds another layer of editing.

These particular examples all relate to the Gospels.

I strongly recommend The Three Gospels by Reynolds Price. Be prepared to read it twice.
